On Maternal Health Awareness Day, AIM Executive Director Ashley Bearden Campbell Calls on Arkansans to Make Their Voices Heard

Little Rock, Ark. (Jan. 23, 2024) – AIM Executive Director Ashley Bearden Campbell issued the following statement marking Maternal Health Awareness Day:

“Maternal Health Awareness Day provides an opportunity to recognize the challenges facing mothers and babies in Arkansas and commit to making their health and well-being a top priority. Tragically, our state has the highest maternal mortality rate in the nation and the vast majority of these deaths are preventable. Every life lost due to inadequate maternal health care is one life too many. I hope that, by sharing my story and elevating the voices of Arkansans who have faced their own maternal health challenges, we will create strength in numbers. Policymakers need to know they have our support to make the changes that are urgently needed to improve access to high-quality, affordable maternal health care. Together, we will make our state the best place in the nation to start and raise a family.”
